Tom is a licensed funeral director in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Tom is a licensed holder of the National Funeral Directors Board and a member of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association.

Tom attended college in Superior, Wisconsin, and then graduated from the Milwaukee Area Mortuary College in 1988 with a degree in Mortuary Science. His original roots are from Superior, Wisconsin, and his wife's from Marshfield, Wisconsin.

For over 30 years, Tom has served the Centuria, Luck, Frederic, and Chetek communities as the owner and operator of Kolstad Family Funeral Homes, and is now proud to extend his service to families throughout Burnett County.

 Emily Lindus, one of our licensed Apprentice Funeral Directors, is licensed in Minnesota

Transfer Specialists, and the Northwoods Crematory manager. 

She brings 1.5 years of experience in funeral service and a heartfelt commitment to supporting families during life’s most difficult moments.

When not at the funeral home, Emily enjoys attending concerts, reading, making up songs about her pets, having dance parties with her daughter, and going on adventures with her family.

Kayla Cwojdzinski is a Wisconsin native whose background reflects a unique blend of marketing, business, and entrepreneurship. Through the merging of her prior experience with the funeral industry and her acumen as a small business owner, she brings both compassion and professionalism to her work.

Currently serving as a Funeral Director Apprentice, Kayla is dedicated to supporting families with care and authenticity. Outside of her career, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, music, and the outdoors.
