Rudolf Solomonson

April 1, 1933 — July 30, 2024

Rudolf “Rudy” A. Solomonson, passed away on July 30, 2024 at the age of 91, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy as a true gentleman living out our lives with his best qualities; unconditional acceptance, patience, kindness and grateful hearts.

Rudy was born on April 1, 1933 to parents Frank and Hilda (Anderson) Solomonson. Rudy was a jack of all trades: a pilot, amazing singer, retired computer engineer, church accountant and our knight in shining armor. Rudy married his one true love, Patricia “Pat” Gable on November 18, 1972. Rudy was one of the good guys who will never be forgotten. A genuine hero that brought peace and stability with him to a widower with five children. He changed her life and the lives of five children, becoming a second dad who was always there for them. The simplest things brought great joy to Rudy. He loved his family, his faith, a home cooked meal, sipping a cup of coffee, singing Swedish tunes and sitting on his rocker overlooking the lake. The beauty of nature brought Rudy great joy. His positivity was contagious. Rudy had a heart of gold, and his kindness was felt by all who crossed paths with him.

Rudy is preceded in death by his one true love, Patricia “Pat” Gable-Bloemers-Solomonson, our hearts are at peace knowing they are now reunited in heaven. His parents, Frank and Hilda; sons, Steve and John Bloemers; brothers, Ernest (Betty), Carl (Eleanor) and Donnie (Jean); sisters, Vea (Joe), Heyen “Helen” (William), Frannie (Ken), Elsie (Bob) and Caroline (Harold); brother-in-law, Gene.

He will be forever missed by his children, Scott (Nita) Bloemers, Mary Bloemers-Olson and, Mark (Diedre) Bloemers ; sister, Betty; grandchildren, Ashley (Josh), Noah, Derk (Allie) Jonnie (Mike), Jenny (Anthony) and Jessie (Henny); great grandchildren, Knox, Logan, John, Nora, Rudy, Geno, Macey, Hattie, Berklee, Miguel, Jayden, Jordan, Colby, Dominic, AJ and Juanita; great-great grandson, Joseph; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Rudy’s guardian angels, Mary Jo and Rick Bierman for the wonderful love and care they gave to Rudy.
