Roger C. Anderson EdD , of Webb Lake, previously of Eau Claire, WI, passed away peacefully with his family and his pastor by his side on May 8, 2018 at Dove Healthcare in Rice Lake, WI. Roger was born on June 1, 1933 in Mankato, MN to parents, Peggy (Rhykus) and Roy Anderson. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1951 and on June 6, 1951 Roger enlisted in the United States Airforce serving as a Radar Operator in B36 Reconnaissance Bomber. Roger proudly served his country for 4 years until his honorable discharge. On February 21, 1959, Roger was united in marriage to Marylin Carlson and from this union two children were born, Brian and Kristin. Roger was a teacher, counselor and teacher educator from 1959 – 1993. He earned BS, MA and EdD degrees. He finished his career working at U-W Eau Claire as Coordinator of Field Experiences for the School of Ed. Roger enjoyed woodworking, deer hunting, fishing and loved watching and cheering for the Minnesota Vikings. Preceding Roger in death are his parents. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marylin; son, Brian (Jacki) Anderson of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Krisitin (Matthew) Brandt of Roseville, MN; 6 grandchildren; and brother, Roy Anderson. A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11:00am (visitation from 9-11:00am) at Lakeside Community Lutheran Church in Webster, WI, with Pastor Bill Schroeder officiating. Full military honors will be held concluding the service at church. A fellowship luncheon will also follow. Interment will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner. Memorials are requested to the Webster Education Foundation at Webster School District, 2628 Lakeland Ave. S., Webster, WI. 54839.
