Robert "Bob" Paulno, 84, of Webster, WI and formerly of the twin cities, MN suburbs, passed away peacefully on Jan. 11, 2026 at Frederic Nursing & Rehab in Frederic, WI. Bob was born Oct. 13, 1941 to parents Ed and Shirley Paulno in Sandstone, MN. He married Helen Struss in 1961. Even though they parted ways, they remained friends through their three children. He owned and operated Beaver Plumbing & Excavating for 46 years and was proud to have his sons working with him.
Bob loved the life and people around Yellow Lake in Webster. He bought a cabin in 1978 and in 2017, he and his fiancée, Sandra Little, moved permanently to their lake home. He took pride in a manicured lawn and well-maintained property. He instilled a strong work ethic in each of his kids and was so very proud of them. At the age of 76, he was blessed with the first of two grandchildren, and he was never so happy. Bob will be remembered as "one of a kind". He worked hard, he played hard, he laughed hard. And he had a big heart.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judy. He is survived by his partner of 30 years, Sandra Little; his children Tim (Teri), Tammy (Mike Gehl) and Rob (Trish Wolford); grandsons Cash and Rich Paulno and granddog Rodney; sisters Dorothy Hamann, Phyllis (Bruce) Voight and Beverly Larson; brother Leonard (Sue); many nieces, nephews, Corey Hoerning and many other friends and loved ones.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Frederic Nursing and Rehab and St. Croix Hospice for the care, kindness and compassion they provided to Bob. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed online at swedberg-taylor.com.
