Richard Allen Moe was born September 19,1930, at home in Deronda WI, to Henry Alfred and Hila (Orner) Moe. Dick worked around the farm and attended Wagon Landing Country School and two years at Amery High School.
On July 28, 1955, Richard married Jeneanne Wittstock. To this union three children were born. Debra Jeanne, Denise Marie and Jeffery Allen. This marriage later dissolved.
Dick worked on their farm in Deronda and then moved the family to Star Prairie to live next door to his in-laws. Dick worked for Farmers Union hauling feed and for Sterling Industries in New Richmond for several year. Eventually he started working at NorLake in Hudson WI.
On January 25, 1992, Richard married Elizabeth (Betty) Baker. Dick and Betty worked for a while together at NorLake. Dick retired from NorLake in 1992. He and Betty continued to enjoy their farms. They shared a love for animals. They raised goats, horses, chickens, dogs, cats and birds.
In 2010 Dick and Betty moved north and settled in their present home. They joined the Trade River Evangelical Free Church. Dick and Betty shared music ministry at the local rest homes with Pastor Dale and his wife.
Dick also loved to play music when he was younger. In the late 1950’s and 1960’s, Dick and his cousin Perry Johnson played music for local dances. He also played music with his cousins Willard and Marilyn Fredrickson and ex-wife Jeneanne at various nursing homes during the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. Dick played in church when he was able. He enjoyed playing accordion and guitar.
Dick passed away August 27, 2025, 23 days before his 95th birthday which would have been Sept. 19, 2025. Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Hila Moe, an infant sister, brother-in-law, Jerry Wittstock and granddaughter-in-law, Amy Johnson.
Dick is survived by his wife, Betty. Daughters, Deb (Gary) Cuper, Denise (Bob) Johnson and son, Jeff (Cindy) Moe. Ex-wife Jeneanne Moe.
Grandchildren, Gary Cuper Jr, Jamie Schreff, Kevin Moe, JR ( also known as Jeremiah) Johnson, Jessica Lenius, Scottie Kobs and Kelly Kobs.
Great Grandchildren: Gage, Caleb, Mason, Dakota, Taylor, Blake, Haily, Justin, Ethan, Tyler and Andrew, Dick also leaves behind many friends and relatives.
A Memorial Service will take place at Trade River Evangelical Free Church in Grantsburg, WI on September 19th, 2025 at 11:00 am. Visitation will take place at 10:00 am prior to the service. Luncheon to follow.
