Grantsburg

Melonie Lee Mack, 38, of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, passed away on March 31, 2026.

Melonie lived a life rooted in love, kindness, and quiet strength. She was the kind of person who seemed to understand what others needed before they could even put it into words. That rare gift shaped every part of her life, from her years as a beloved manager at Yellow Lake Lodge to the way she cared for family, friends, and even strangers. She gave freely of herself, always with sincerity and warmth.

Her greatest joy and proudest role in life was being a mother. Her daughters, Madalynn and Hannah Swanson, were her whole world. She poured her heart into every moment with them, especially cheering them on at their sporting events, celebrating their accomplishments, and encouraging their growth not only in athletics and academics, but in kindness and character. She was endlessly proud of the young women they are becoming.

Melonie shared her life with her partner, James Swanson, and was a devoted daughter to Ronald Mack. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Tanya (Michael) Keith, Laurissa Mack, Brittany Mack, Janae Mack, and Alyssa Mack, as well as her cherished nieces and nephew, Landon, Lydia, and Chloe. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were touched by her compassion and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Barenz, along with beloved aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

Melonie believed deeply that everything happens for a reason greater than ourselves, and she lived each day guided by that faith. Her life was a reflection of love in its purest form. Whether through a thoughtful gift, a warm meal, or simply her presence, she made people feel seen, valued, and cared for.
She will be remembered for her radiant smile, one that could light up even the darkest room, and for the gentle, steady way she made the world around her better.

Her love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

An evening visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Grantsburg, WI. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM with a visitation at 10:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Grantsburg, WI.
