Maurice "Morry" Westphal, age 95, passed away on July 21, 2026, at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.
Morry was born in Willmar, MN, to Malvin Westphal and Effie Solverson. Morry married Corrine Jensen of Willmar, MN, on October 15, 1960.
Notable interests, activities, hobbies, or passions: Lead worker for building 3 homes for Habitat for Humanity, served on the church council and sang in the choir, loved to fish and spend time at the lake relaxing. He was a handyman (worked on many home projects and even built a playhouse for Angie). He loved spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by Malvin Westphal (Father), Effie Solverson (Mother), Corrine Jensen (Spouse), William Jensen (Father in law), Merlow Jensen (Mother in law), Betty Peterson (Sister), Bob Peterson (Brother in law), Calvin Westphal (Brother), Voni Westphal (Sister in law), Craig Westphal (Brother), Carolyn Westphal (Sister), Beryl "Bootz" Westphal (Sister in law).
Survived by Bruce Westphal (Brother), Jeff Westphal (Son), Diane Hernandez (Daughter), Julian "Julio" Hernandez (Son-in-law), Angelina "Angie" Hernandez (Granddaughter), Joan Gordon (Sister-in-law), and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 7160 South Robert Trail, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. An inurnment memorial service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation or the American Cancer Society (in honor of Jeff Westphal).
