Margaret Britton

Margaret Fern (Frazee) Britton passed away at the age of 94 years young on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at her home surrounded by many of her family. Margaret fought a battle of bladder cancer. She was born May 16, 1920 in Sioux City, Iowa, to Herman “Harry” and Eva Frazee. She was united in marriage to Lavern Britton from June 4, 1939 to May 30, 2008. Margaret enjoyed life; everything from reading, gardening, sewing, canning, playing cards and games. But most of all she enjoyed being with her family and friends. Margaret was a member of the H.C.E. organization (Home & Community Education) of Burnett County where she was the secretary for several years. Margaret was loved by everyone who knew her or had just met her. She was an inspiration to all. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents: Herman “Harry” and Eva Frazee; her husband, Lavern Britton; her sons: Charlie “Chuck” Britton and Eugene Britton; as well as 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and other family members. She is survived by 6 children: Marvin (Marlys) Britton of Merrill IA, Margaret (Babe) Mickelson of Sioux City IA, Phillip (Marlys) Britton of Remsen IA, Rodney (Connie) Britton of North Sioux City SD, Ralph (Jenell) Britton of Frederic WI, and Delores “Dee” Kurtz of Frederic WI; sister-in-law, Kathleen (widow of Chuck) Britton of Frederic WI; 18 grandchildren; and many, many great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 brothers and 3 sisters: Jimmie (Genevieve) Frazee of Danbury WI, Robert (Margaret) Frazee of Danbury WI, Floyd (Kathy) Frazee of Trade Lake WI, Jean (Richard) Wynn of Sioux City IA, Maryann Reed of Erhard MN, and Patty (Jim) Carey of Lindstrom (MN); and many other relatives and friends, and special friends of H.C.E. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster WI, and also on Thurs., Sep. 25th from 9:00 to 10:00 am. The funeral service for Margaret Britton will be conducted at 10:00 am at the funeral home on Thursday with Gene Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Bluff Lake Cemetery, Union Township.
