Lois Marie Forsythe-Taylor

February 26, 1942 — May 22, 2026

Lois Marie Forsythe-Taylor, age 84, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, May 22, 2026, in Frederic, Wisconsin.

Lois M Forsythe-Taylor born in Pepin, Wisconsin on February 26, 1942, to Dorothy and Frank Forsythe. She was raised on the family farm, the youngest of three, attending the Little Plum school, a one room schoolhouse. Throughout her childhood she took part in 4H and playing the French horn, and painting landscapes. Later in life enjoyed quilting.

After graduating from Pepin High school in 1960, she then attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, earning her bachelor's degree. After raising a family, she returned to college attending the University of Wisconsin receiving a degree in communications.

Her passion for her heritage brought her to book the “trip of a lifetime” with family to Scotland in 2014, re-discovering the Forsythe family tartan, which is displayed with her Urn.

She retired as Director of Burnett County’s Aging program in 2012.

Family was her greatest love and some of the greatest memories were made in the kitchen. She loved hosting holiday gatherings and had the firm belief that all gatherings, no matter how small, required enough food to feed at least 20 people.

Her love for her border collies was unmatched, particularly her Lacey Girl. Reading was a daily ritual for her including her true crime, detective stories, and biographies.

One of her favorite places to be was in her comfy chair, covered with a warm blanket, sipping coffee, and reading a book.

Survived by her brother Lyle (Joan) Forsythe, daughter Tonja (Wade) Honeysett, son Gregory (Normita) Taylor, son David Taylor. Her grandchildren Christopher, Stephanie, Rhiannon, Angela, Kennedy, Wyatt, Henry, Corrie, Kathryn, Madison, and Alex. Great grandchildren Keith, Freya, Wesley, Gabriel, Sawyer, Colter, and Wren.

Proceeded in death by her parents, Brother William and wife Dorothy, Mother-in-law Lolita Taylor, special in-laws, and a niece and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Swedberg Taylor Funeral Home in Webster, Wisconsin, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed online at swedberg-taylor.com.
