LaVerne Ronald Schauer

LaVerne (Swede) Schauer, 87, of Siren, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, with his loved ones by his side.

He was born October 31, 1938. A lifelong resident of Siren, Swede was known for his sharp wit, independent spirit, and stubborn strength. He was proud of his Wisconsin roots and had a deep appreciation of the outdoors. Swede spent much of his time hunting, trapping, fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, canning, and chatting with his friends at Happy Hour.

He spent most of his working life with the Burnett County Highway Department.

Swede was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Doris; brother, Wayne; infant son, Ronald; and daughter-in-law Cindy.

He is survived by his children, Shauna (Scott) Martin, Carey Schauer, Christopher (Gail) Schauer; his siblings, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of LaVerne’s life will be held at a later date.
