Kenneth Donald Hoefs was born November 19, 1939, in Siren, Wisconsin, to Robert and Edna (Block) Hoefs. He went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2026, just two months shy of his 94th birthday. He attended Mud Hen Lake and Wood Creek grade schools and graduated from Siren High School in 1951.

He served in the Army from November 1953 to November 1955. Kenny and Florence Christensen were married in the Milltown Lutheran Church on January 17, 1953, and were blessed with four healthy children, Duane, Diane, Delane, and Dale. They bought their home in Falun, WI, in May of 1959.

Kenny was employed for 30 years at North States Wood Products in Siren and 8 years at Parker Hannifin in Grantsburg before retiring in 2001. After retirement, he cut and sold firewood, sharpened saws, had coffee every morning at Lee’s Sports in Siren, and spent many hours fishing at various lakes in the area, deer hunting, and snowmobiling. He enjoyed multiple fishing trips to Canada with family and friends. He was involved with the Lake Country Snowmobile Club in Siren for 18 years, many of those years as trail boss, and helped many people in various ways.

On September 7, 1967, Kenny and Florence’s lives changed dramatically when they turned their lives over to the Lord. Shortly thereafter, they became members of the First Baptist Church of Falun, where Kenny served as usher, deacon, and elder for many years. He was also on the board of New Life Ministries for several years. He was a strong man with a gentle soul who was loved deeply by all. Kenny always had a special place in his heart for his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Florence; daughter Diane; sister Bernice; brother George; and parents. He is survived by son Duane (Nancy) Hoefs of Siren, WI, son-in-law David Engstrand of Trade Lake, WI, daughter Delane (Craig) Jorgenson of Luck, WI, and son Dale (Kris) Hoefs of Danbury, WI, along with 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5th at First Baptist Church in Falun, Wisconsin, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am, and lunch to follow at the church. Interment will follow lunch at Mud Hen Lake Cemetery. Casket bearers are grandsons Mike Hoefs, Aaron Hoefs, Brian Jorgenson, Nathan Jorgenson, and Cory Hoefs, and great-grandchildren Mariah Olson, Jonathan Olson, Jeremiah Engstrand, and Isaiah Engstrand.
