Kari Ann Kestler

Kari Ann Kestler, age 47, of Danbury, WI, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025. She was born on August 20, 1977, in Decorah, Iowa to Ronald and Linda (Bishop) Hughes. Kari graduated from Postville High School with the class of 1996. She participated in chorus and band during school and worked at the Good Samaritan Center. This led to a passion for serving others in the healthcare field. She worked at Nestle for 10 years. She had a kind heart and found great joy caring for the elderly, most recently at Vista Prairie at Brentwood in Rice Lake. While working at Nestle, Kari met Nick Kestler, and they later married on November 16, 2023. Nick and Kari enjoyed camping, hiking, sightseeing, chasing waterfalls, utv rides, kayaking, and all kinds of things outdoors. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and made her house a home. Kari made it a point to visit her family back in Iowa.

Survivors include her husband, Nick; her parents, Ronald and Linda Hughes; her brothers, Travis (Dawn) Hughes and Toby (Kim Askeland) Hughes; her nieces and nephews, Mac Hughes, Elora Hughes, Lily Hughes, Jordan Fury, and Madison Hughes; father-in-law, Darrell Kestler; mother-in-law, Joan (Eugene) Fons; brother-in-law, Darrell “Tim” Kestler Jr.; sister-in-law, Megan Kestler; her furbaby, Nova; other relatives and friends.
