Josephine Denn

Josephine G. Denn, age 94, of Grantsburg, WI, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015. She was born in Hastings, Dakota Co., Minnesota, on July 13, 1920, a daughter of the late John M. and Ruby E. (nee: Jeremy) Reuter. Josephine married William “Bill” Denn in 1939. They lived most of their lives in Hastings, and moved in March 1970 to the Trade Lake area of Burnett County, WI. Bill passed away on September 10, 2000, and was laid to rest in Hastings. Josephine enjoyed cooking, canning, baking, crocheting, quilting, sewing, fishing, and going to the casinos. She will be remembered for her hospitality, her love for fun and her sense of humor. Most of all she loved spending time with every one of her large family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William; six siblings: John M., Anna M., Joseph C., Thomas P., Lawrence J., and Charles E. Reuter; two sons: William H. Denn in 1992 and Keith R. Denn in 2013; grandson, Kirk T. Denn, and two grandsons in infancy. Surviving are four children: Patricia A. (Gary) Fender, Thomas W. Denn, Charles E. Denn, and Laurence J. Denn; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 4 great, great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews and their families, and other relatives. The family of Josephine G. (Reuter) Denn will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 12, 2015, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm (concluding with a memorial service) at Wise Funeral Home in Hastings, MN. Urn burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings, at a later date. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Grantsburg Chapel.
