James Alan Stenberg, age 74, passed away at his home in Siren on February 5, 2026. The first of four children, Jim was born in Baldwin, WI, on September 12, 1951, to James and Jean Stenberg. When Jim was just a toddler, the family moved to their home on Highway 48 between Luck and Cumberland, where Jim and his siblings grew up.
Jim attended East Luck School near the family home and then graduated from Luck High School in 1969, where he excelled in both football and track. After graduation, Jim attended the University of Wisconsin - River Falls for a couple of years in the pre-veterinary medicine program. Jim worked at his dad’s auto parts business in Luck for many years and then worked as an auto body technician for Ed’s Auto Body in Falun.
Jim enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing with his family, friends, and especially his Uncle Chub. Jim was a talented drummer and vocalist and performed with several local bands throughout the years. Jim loved riding his Harley and hanging out with his friends.
Jim is survived by his sister Mary and his brother John. He was preceded in death by his parents and his little sister Ann.
Jim will be especially missed by his friends and family.
