Ervin Wesley Pardun was born on October 6, 1925, and passed away peacefully in his home on July 23, 2026. Born to Ray and Evelyn Pardun, he grew up in Danbury, Wisconsin, where he developed a strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and deep sense of community.

Ervin proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps as a cadet and trained to be a bombardier, and often shared fond memories of the friendships he made during his military service. In 1947, he married the love of his life, Rosemarie Nelson. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and community, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew them.

Ervin lived many lives in one lifetime. He was a blueberry picker (his first job at the age of 6), a pilot, an employee at the welfare office, a realtor (Real Estate 3), a Scout leader, an accomplished carpenter, and a builder whose craftsmanship can still be seen in many homes throughout the area. Yet of all his accomplishments, he took the greatest pride in being a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

For many years, Ervin served the Webster School District as a math and shop teacher, principal, and driver's education instructor. Every person who was one of his students has a story to tell.

Ervin was happiest when he was busy creating or spending time outdoors. He enjoyed carving beautiful wood sculptures, hunting, fishing, and embracing lake life. He took particular pride in keeping what he believed was the best beach on Devils Lake (and few would argue). He was a man of deep faith who treated everyone with kindness and respect, and his quick wit and wicked sense of humor brought laughter wherever he went.

Ervin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosemarie; his parents, Ray and Evelyn; his son, Mikel; his daughter, Debra; his brothers, Harvey, Donald, and Leslie; and his sister, Beth.

He is survived by his brother, Clifford; his sister Beveryly, his children, Gerald (Mary) Pardun, Connie (Mick) Anderson, Denis (Gayle) Pardun, and Lori (Dave) Ingalls; as well as his many grandchildren (all named George), great-grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Ervin may not have been a big man in stature, but the mark he left on this world is enormous. Through the family he cherished, the students he taught, the homes he built, the friendships he nurtured, and the example he set, his impact will be felt for generations to come.
