Ernest Wallin

Ernest H. Wallin, age 94, died Friday, September 5, 2014 at Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, Wisconsin. Ernest was born on March 25, 1920 in Burnett Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin to the late Ernest H. and Anna C. (Melland) Wallin, Sr. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II in the Air and Sea Rescue Unit. On December 18, 1946 he was united in marriage with Annie Maurene. Ernest taught biology, physics, chemistry and general science at Horicon High School for many years, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed golfing and had been a member at both Old Hickory Golf Club and Sunset Hills; he had also been a member of Toastmasters. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and four brothers and sisters, Kenneth Wallin, Carl Wallin, Opal Larson, and Amber Andersen. He is survived by his three children, Barbara (Norman) Schwantes of Menomonee Falls, Suzan Meyer of Milwaukee, and James Wallin of Appleton; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM (visitation 10-11 AM) at Yellow Lake Lutheran Church in Danbury with Pastor Douglas Olson officiating.
