Elita Bender

Elita Bender, age 94, of Frederic, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her home on January 15, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Elita lived a full and meaningful life, finding joy in both quiet moments and new adventures. She had a deep love for nature, especially birds and plants, and could often be found appreciating the beauty around her. An avid golfer, she also enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. In her quieter moments, Elita took great pleasure in knitting and crocheting, working on crossword puzzles, and reading.

She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her curiosity, and the love she shared with family and friends. Elita's presence brought comfort and warmth to those who knew her, and she will be dearly missed. She was Oma to many, a term of endearment and respect used by many who had the privilege of knowing her.

Elita is survived by her daughter, Vicky Trinka; granddaughter, Nikki Gabriel (Paul Cozart); friend, Felix Gabriel; sister-in-law and long-time friend, Regina Andrijauskas; niece and goddaughter, Loretta Larson; long-time friend, Dana Milius; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Bender, and her brother Gunnar.
