Eileen W. (Swanson) Johnson, age 86, of Grantsburg, WI, passed away on Friday, July 11th, 2025, at her home.
Eileen was born to Leonard and Lilly Swanson on August 27th, 1938, at home in Daniels Township. They moved to their farm on Assembly Rd when she was a little girl. Eileen attended school at Bass Lake and graduated from Grantsburg High School with the class of 1956.
Eileen married Lloyd Johnson in December of 1956, and they were married for 67 years. To this union four children were born, Melody, Julie, Darran, and Dwane.
Eileen had many various work experiences. She enjoyed nursing and working with many at Burnett Medical Center-Continuing Care Center. She was a small business owner, worked at McNally's Industries, drove children for Head start, and she learned cosmetology.
She enjoyed flea markets, auctions, thrift stores, and decorating. She loved flowers, watching the hummingbirds, and doing word puzzles.
She and Lloyd spent winters in Tucson, AZ. Retirement years were good, and they made many friends from all over the U.S.
She will be missed by her four children, Melody Kruse, Julie (Dave) Dahlberg, Darran (Sue Foxx) Johnson, and Dwane (Merly) Johnson; her grandchildren, Brian (Jen) Kruse, Brenda (Nick) Skiba, Andrew (Rosie) Dahlberg, Kathryn (Jason) Spadanuta-Castello, Patricia (Jason) Mathers, Nathen Johnson, Patrick Johnson, Christopher (Eri) Johnson, Kevin Johnson; step-granddaughter, Melanie Johnson; great-grandchildren, Travis, Austin, Victoria, Damon, Mavis, Destiny, Brandon, Annabelle, Joshua, Grayson, Clark, Leo, and Hanna; brother, Wayne (Sandy) Swanson; sisters-in-law, Blanche Anderson of Texas, Nina (Doug) Dewing of Grantsburg, and Ardy Johnson of South Dakota; brother-in-law, Norman (Bonae) Johnson of Grantsburg; other relatives and friends.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; her brother, Jimmy Smith; her son-in-law, Leon Kruse; her grandson, Allen Johnson; her great-granddaughter, Brianna Dahlberg; and her step-granddaughter, Carla Kruse.
A Celebration of Eileen's Life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Falun. Visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of the service. Luncheon will follow at the church. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.swedberg-taylor.com.
