Edward C. “Ned” Kellogg, age 87, of Webster, passed away Friday, September 5, 2014. Ned was born July 20, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI, son of the late Edward C. and Elsie L. (Dreier) Kellogg. He attended schools in Milwaukee, graduating from Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School and Marquette University High School. He then earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Marquette University. Ned served in the U. S. Navy during the Pacific Theater during WWII. On May 19, 1951, Ned was united in marriage to Catharine Frances Shaughnessy at St. Roberts Church in Milwaukee. She passed away November 18, 1995. Ned was employed by Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors Corporation for 40 years retiring in 1985. Besides Milwaukee, they lived in Dixon, Freeport and La Grange, IL, and Golden Valley, MN, before moving to the local area. He truly loved his house on North Sand Lake, the sunsets, woodworking in his shop, gardening, fishing, sitting on his deck, or in his chair on the car port watching and talking to all who walked by. He was a member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church on Crescent Lake. He greatly enjoyed golfing, and was a long-time member of the Voyager Village Golf Club. He also appreciated the opportunity to travel to Europe with Catharine. Surviving are four children: Patrick E. (Darlene) Kellogg, James J. (Tari) Kellogg, Mary E. Kellogg, and William G. (fiancé Melanie) Kellogg; eight grandchildren: Catharine Kellogg; Dana, Colleen and Joe Kellogg; Allison and Spec. Benjamin Leef, U.S. Army; and Matthew and Caitlyn Kellogg; two sisters: Cleo Binzak and Mary Dungan; and very special friend, Mary Okonek. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Catharine. The Memorial Mass for Edward C. “Ned” Kellogg will be celebrated at 11:00 am (visitation 10:00 to 11:00 am) on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church (Crescent Lake), on County Rd H, just north of County Rd A, Webster, WI. Full military honors will be accorded at the church after the Mass. A time of fellowship and food will follow at the Kilkare Lodge in Voyager Village. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Webster, WI. Condolences may be expressed online at www.swedberg-taylor.com.
