Edith Claire
LaForge
May 20, 1953 — Oct 3, 2026
Edith Claire LaForge, 73, of Grantsburg, WI, passed away on October 3, 2026.
She was born on May 20, 1953, to Edna Solberg and Floyd Briggs. After graduating from Verona High School, Edith lived in the Madison area until the early 1990s, when she moved to the northwestern part of the state.
Edith loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She and her late husband, Ron, enjoyed fishing and spending time by the water together was a favorite pastime. The occasional casino night always added a touch of excitement to their weeks.
She had a fondness for yellow roses, sunflowers, Neil Diamond, her dog Buster, and laughter-often and always.
What stood out most about Edith was her deep capacity for connection. When she talked with you, whether family, friend, or stranger alike, she truly cared. She hung on your every word because, to her, you mattered simply for being "you."
Edith is survived by her treasured children: Theresa (Mark) Jones, Tracy Briggs, Trista (Dan) Edaburn, and Toni Topp; her sister, Bonnie; her brothers, Robert, Alan, and Spencer; as well as many beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ron; her parents, Edna and Floyd; her sisters, Rita, Jeanne, Arlene, and Janette; and her brother, Fred (Butch).
Edith was deeply loved and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
A Celebration for Edith and Ron will be held at a later date in the spring.
