Donald Lee Blanding

Donald R. Blanding, age 87, resident of Little Wood Lake, WI, passed away on April 3, 2026.

Donald was born on September 5, 1938, in Grantsburg, WI, to Rex and Maria (Hansen) Blanding. He was born and raised on Little Wood Lake and attended school there.

He served in the Army from 1958 until his departure in 1964.

After the army, he worked multiple jobs before moving back to the Little Wood Lake area, where he started his own septic company, Grantsburg Septic. He owned and ran the business for about 20 years before selling it.

Donald loved having coffee with his friends and visiting different restaurants, as he enjoyed eating out. He was always there to help anyone out and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Marie, his brothers, Leroy, Ed, and Jack.

Donald is survived by his cousin, Donna Hansen Mishler, and best friend, Carolyn Bork.

He will be laid to rest on April 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM in Bone Lake Cemetery in Luck, WI, with military honors.
