It is with great sadness that the family of Dean Moody announces his passing. Unexpected health complications took him from us too quickly.
Dean was born on October 14, 1968, to Franklin and Alta Moody. He graduated from Grantsburg Senior High School in 1987 and married the love of his life, Ramona, shortly after graduation. Dean and Ramona began their friendship in kindergarten, which grew into love in high school.
Dean accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior after seeing the Passion Play of Jesus, where the death, burial, and Resurrection of Jesus were set on stage in 2000. The Lord took Dean home on Easter Sunday, 2026.
Dean’s previous work history helped him to succeed in his long-term work career at Parker Hannifin.
Dean was a true ‘Jack of all trades’, and many have said, “If Dean can’t fix it, no one can”. Dean was planning for retirement and was looking forward to planting apple and pear trees with the anticipation of sharing the produce with friends and family. Another thing Dean was known for was his sacred campfire baked bean recipe. It was his prized secret that he would not even share with his wife. Ramona found the recipe and thought Dean would not mind it being shared now in Dean’s memory.
Dean was a loving husband, father, and grandpa, who was so proud of his children. Dean was also a caring friend and would do anything to lend a helping hand.
Dean enjoyed teaching his children how to fix things, was a quiet man with love for the Lord and great principles, but never wanted recognition for the things he did. He always tried to leave things better than he found them.
Our loss is profound, and no words can express the hole that is felt by all who knew him.
Dean is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ramona; his children: Melissa (Tadd), Adam (Alyssa), and Ashley; and his grandchildren Elliott, Ian, Mason, Ella, and Maja. Dean is survived by his siblings Linda, Kathy (Tony), Stanley, Beverly (Richard), Brian, and Jeff (Bonny). Dean is also survived by his mother-in-law, Marian, siblings-in-law Lee, Paul (Audra), and Brenda (Richard); many nieces and nephews, as well as many other relatives; special church family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his Mother, Alta; Father, Franklin Leo; Stepfather, Al; and sister Peggy.
