Catherine Leavitt

March 27, 1956 — March 24, 2026

Catherine Lynn Leavitt, age 69, of Saint Croix Falls, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026.

She lived life with adventure in her heart and love for her family at the center of it all. Born March 27, 1956, in Sunrise, Minnesota, to Joseph and Rosalie Lapinski, née Lehman.

Catherine grew up in Sunrise and graduated from North Branch High School. In the mid-1980s, she moved out west to start a new life. For more than 20 years, she blossomed there, working her way up the corporate ladder, having fun, and living life to the fullest. She later returned home to Minnesota to spend her retirement close to family.

Catherine loved adventure, cooking, and hosting parties. She brought people together and made every gathering feel special. She adored her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, often saying that the grands were the most fun. She was blessed with great loves, great friends, and a family she cherished. She wanted to be remembered for always trying to be and do her best.

Catherine is survived by her daughter, Rene Haselman and Kurt Wylie; her son, Chad Pedersen and wife Shawna; beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Sandy Lapinski, Colleen Lapinski, Susan & Rich Gieser; and brother-in-law, Smokey Balfanz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rosalie; her sister, Patty; and her brother, James.

A gathering to celebrate Catherine's life will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City, MN.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
