Brenda Lee Lindberg (Hayes), age 69, of Siren, WI passed away peacefully at home on March 19, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Brenda was born March 14, 1957 to William and Julia Hayes in St. Paul, MN. She spent her early years in Prairie Du Chien, WI, with her parents and siblings.
One of her earliest memories was playing on the swing set with her siblings: Mary Jo, Debra, Rick, and Jerry.
Brenda married William Lindberg in a private ceremony in 1988 in Siren, WI. Together, they raised three children. The family lived in multiple locations in the US and abroad during William's Army deployment, but eventually came home to Siren.
Brenda was best known for her sense of humor and strong opinions. It was always easier to do something Brenda's way because it would be done her way in the end anyway. Brenda loved traveling, visiting siblings, and especially the trips to South Dakota with co-sitting her sisters.
Brenda loved the holidays and hosting family. Holiday memories that were a huge source of joy for her, consisting of decorating for Christmas, gifting many Christmas presents and large Easter baskets, constructing Easter egg hunts, and making huge Thanksgiving meals. Brenda loved to feed her grandchildren, and they fondly remember Nana's snack drawer, sleepovers with spaghetti for dinner, her tacos, cakes, and the endless supply of orange pushpops in the summer. They also enjoyed gossiping at the dining room table with her, talking about life, her tough love, sarcasm, and how absolutely blunt she was.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, William; children David (Linda) Ritchey, Julia Ritchey, and Kimberly Lindberg; grandchildren Kaylin (Tyler) Anton, Alyssa Ritchey, Jacob Ritchey, Reed Ritchey, Cameryn Ritchey, and Kristopher Ritchey; great-grandchildren Brayden, Deacon, and Charlotte; Siblings: Betty (Robert) Peterson, Diane Roggensack, Linda (David) Etchyson, Robert (Ginny) Hayes, Bonnie Tjader, Thomas Hayes,
Gerald Hayes, Julius Hayes, and Debra Richison; 47 nieces and nephews.
Brenda was welcomed into heaven, serenaded by her favorite song, Ozzy Osbourne 'Mama, I'm Coming Home', by her parents, siblings Helen, Carol, June, William, Mary Jo, Michael, and Keith; and 7 nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
